Heavenly Voices
One can anticipate elves and fairies behind every log in the mystical light of the waterfall rich primeval forests of southern New Zealand. Evergreen Southern- und Silberbeech trees are growing among Kauri's, a monkey puzzle tree, that belongs to the araucaria family. Also primeval conifers, called podocarpaceen are a common sight. The forest is typically layered and grows up to a height of 50 m. Most of the trees are clothed by lianas, ferns, mosses and other epiphytes.
