The Giant Forest
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park to the west of Sierra Nevada’s water divide is homeland of the largest population of sequoias. With their distinctive red trunks and sheer dimension they dominate the forest. They differ from redwoods in having a much bulkier trunk. Additionally redwoods grow along the Pacific west coast only.
