Paintings With Light
Smoke of a nearby forest fire triggered by lightning strike in combination with the colors of sunset enwraps the Crater Lake in Oregon in a dreamy mood. 6900 years ago a stratovolcano of 4000 m height stood here, somehow resembling today's Mt. Rainier. The catastrophic volcanic eruption caused the caldera, a 1200 m deep hole, that is now half filled with extremely clear water.
